We Are Insane
First of all, I actually contacted support for the craziness that is the dialogue box. Basically, the Rich Text Editor is ancient and doesn't like modern things. So, to the HTML editor we go.
Look, Ma, no random capitalization!
What's been happening? We just went to Volunteer Jam XX. It's a concert the Charlie Daniels Band puts on. Not every year, because he started in '74 and this was number 20. Often enough, though.
We went last year as well. The format this year was different. The majority of the acts only sang one song. Still, I got to see Lynrd Synyrd, Billy Gibbons, Allison Krause...
And it is not scrolling down. I am currently typing under the section that has location and comment screening
That's just wild...
Anyway,we took the older 2 boys. Only, we didn't think to get them tickets when we got tickets. So, we had floor seats and theu still had tickets.
Ok, it's sorta scrolling now. It at least it not going into the Crossposting box. Totally counts.
Did I mention that the property next to us is going up for sale? Well, we assumed so, at least since they were surveying and doing soil tests. Today we noticed that the neighbor on the other side of the property was moving his fence. We are pretty sure that the survey showed that he owned more than they thought. He owns almost 80 acres, according to the plat.
Anyway... we talked to one neighbor and got the owner's number. 6.9+/- acres for $60k. Considering the opposite end of the road has 1 acre plots listed at $27.5k...
And, we don't actually want all u acres. What we want is the front acre, which has the pond that we own part of (yes, we have equal access to it, but still) and the back... maybe 3 acres. But then that would leave a weird bit that was cut off from the road.
The property in question is a L shape, well, and upside down L. With the long part running our east property line and the short part our north property line. They recently chopped about an acre off the original 7.9 acres to.separate out the house near the road. They surveyed driveway easements and did perk tests.
So... DH has an idea that he is going to float. We hold the mortgage to the 14 acres we sold. Owner finance things. The buyer is paying us 5% interest on the loan and owes $55k. So, he is going to suggest that they take that mortgage in trade for the 7 acres.. Basically, sell the mortgage for property.
This is all perfectly legal, btw. Mortgages get sold all the time and the lawyer specifically said that we could sell the mortgage at some point. It does not affect the buyer, other than who he writes the check to.
Companies do this all the time. Our own mortgage was just sold to SunTrust. As long as everyone keeps their paperwork in order, it's.no biggies.. If you don't, you have market crashes, court battles, and judges laughing because no one knows who actually owns a mortgage.
I think individuals don't usually do that type o thing, though. Unless they're loan sharks.
But... We will see. Owning 9 acres outright, with 2 acres part of the mortgage sounds very nice.
In other news, we now have an electrician who is going to fix the screwed up electricity in the house. And 4.trees.are.going to come.crashing down. Fun times.
