Friends Only
This journal has become friends only. At some point I'll add a nifty graphic.
Comment to be added, etc.
Edit: Just to let you know, I'm picky about who I add. Call me paranoid. I will not add someone who friends me unless I know him or her from somewhere else or if he or she leaves a comment here to at least introduce yourself.
Fic and art posts will always be unlocked unless I delve into the realms of NC-17.
Edit2: I have created a fic journal for myself. All new fanart/fanfic will be housed at
icanbecreative .

I was going through my old bookmarked links the other day, and I came across the one for Freakazoid High. Since it hadn't been updated in so long, I assumed it was abandoned and forgot about it until now. I decided to look and see if Karen had added anymore, or written anything else since then, only to find that she seems to have completely disappeared from the Internet. I even found rumours claiming she'd passed away.
I was quite saddened by this if it was true; she had a real talent. It always lifted my spirits to read one of her fics - I never failed to walk away from my monitor wearing an ear-to-ear grin afterward.
However, since this IS the Internet and the fanfiction community to boot, I didn't want to take a statement from a total stranger's LJ as blanket fact. After much searching, I came across a forum post on TTH that said you had been a beta reader for Karen.
I was wondering if you knew what happened to her? I realise that whatever caused her to seemingly vanish online is none of my business really, so I wouldn't dare ask you to give me the play-by-play. I'd just like to know if she's all right and simply lost interest in fanfiction (which I fervently hope is the case, as much as I wish FH could be finished), or real life interfered and she is unable to concentrate on online things at the moment, or if she has actually passed away.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and really, if you don't feel comfortable answering, I understand. :)
I wish I would have told Karen how much I admired her work before; not just in a review. Her fics were some of the few I kept coming back to over and over again.
Regards,
Allie

First of all, Karen is NOT dead. I personally hate that rumor... Seems odd that someone would start it, but there's all sorts of crazies on the internet.
Karen is currently living in the wilds of Scotland, and unfortunately completely without internet. Every once in awhile she gets an e-mail out to do something like wish a friend good luck on a new baby. Last I heard she was expected to have internet again by this past Christmas. Obviously that did not happen.
All of the Freaks series can be found on her Yahoo List (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Freaks_R_Us/) under links. Unfortunately Freakazoid High is still unfinished, and I can only hope that one day it will be.
As to being added, sure! I'm mainly flocked as a precaution against people in my real life finding out that I snark about them behind their backs!

I can understand what you mean re: flocking things so as not to be found by real life folks, I do the same.
