We have been one week with only wired internet access. Which means only one laptop for four people. DH has been the one using it the most, to play BSG Online. He feels a little guilty about it, but I knew that was what was going to happen.
Tomorrow begins one week of being without home internet at all. Can't you tell that I'm thrilled.
All of our stuff was delivered today. All 20 cubic feet of it, sans two boxes. Maybe. To explain, they underestimated how much cubic feet we needed. A lot. The estimated 14 cubic feet. We took up the 19 cubic feet the driver had in his truck, and then the rest had to be sent with another truck. Well, the driver of the overflow truck was annoyed at having to come out, and did a piss poor job of inventorying and taking care of our stuff. The packers also did a piss poor job of inventorying, as did the warehouse guys once the first truck got to El Paso. So, the warehouse said that they received two boxes from the overflow shipment and that they were two boxes short of the expected shipment. Let me rephrase that: they say they did not get two expected boxes, but did get two boxes that were in fact on a different truck, still en route.

Add to that the inventory numbers that were one off from the inventory descriptions. So, box 345 would be listed as books, 346 as linens, 347 as office items, etc. Only box 346 had books written on the side, 347 had linens, etc. And box 345 does not exist. Or maybe it does and the sticker fell off.
This was actually the most screwy unloading we have ever had because of these things. It's not unusual to have a box or two missing because the number was not called when it came off the truck, or it was just missed when you were checking things off. You spend maybe 20 minutes double checking, finding that box or two, and you're good. We spent over an hour trying to figure out what matched up to what. Very unusual.
But tomorrow starts the fun of unpacking. Yay. At least DirecTV will be installed...
