So, because Elle and Manda are amazing, we have a new Caliga community.  caliga_plus, a community for stories that don't fit in Caliga.  Say, you want to see Harry and Ginny's breakup, you can request the scene here.  Or, you want to know what Draco and Ginny's kids would be like.  You can request that as well.  Heck, you can request an off the wall pairing that would never happen in the Caliga canon!  Let's have Draco and Luna do the horizontal mamba!  Or Luna and Ginny!  O.O

It's open for anyone to make requests and for any Caliga player, past and present, to post.  So, come join the fun!

You know, I thought I had made a post about cynicism right before Christmas.  About how I was a cynic and had lost all faith in the human race.  Except for my family, the Babes, and seegrim.  Because seegrimis made of awesome.

Yes, there is an explanation to this.  And it has a bit to do with this post about Player D.  Which I'm going to change from flocked to open for everyone to read.  Because this is Bad Penny worthy, people.

Anyway, right after Xmas, D, otherwise known as Meg or Maghan Gilson... *runs to see if she has an LJ, because this is too good, people*  Damn, nope.  No personal journal.  And, yes, I am naming names this time.  Because there are some things you do not pussy-foot around with.  Anyway, I got an e-mail, apparently from Meg's sister, that Meg had been in a terrible accident.

And, dammit...  I KNOW I made that post.  Because brendanm720replied to it (yes, I remember things for odd reasons).  Here it is!

Like I said in the cynical post, my immediate reaction was "Yeah, right!"  Which could have been because I had browsed the fandom wank wiki in the past month and read about the one Brazil girl who created a medical drama, fake boyfriend, etc.  But, I decided to keep my cynicism largely to myself and the other Babes.  And Celeste, because she pinged me to express her own doubts that Meg would have an accident after being rejected once again and basically being told to straighten up.  The timing was too convienent.

I IMed with Meg's "sister" using Meg's account and found out a few more details.  She didn't have much, which I took as a good sign, actually.  Seemed to me that if you were going to lie about that sort of thing, then you should lie big.  Give details and such.  I basically only got that she had a broken arm, leg, ribs, and a concussion.  OK, sounds plausable.

I dutifully passed the message along to the Caliga people, who expressed concern.  That's when seegrim(Celeste) pinged me about her doubts.  And, it turns out that Celeste lives close to where Meg lives, and they go to the same school.  To put her own, and our, doubts to rest, she asked for the name of the hospital so that she could check on Meg herself.  

I pass along the request to Meg's "sister" who replied after a few days that she didn't feel comfortable doing that without asking Meg.  OK.  That works for me.  There's never a reply.

Yesterday, Meg herself e-mailed Vicky to ask for a Leave of Absense from the game, since it was too painful to do anything.  She's home, which raised some of the Babes' cynical hackles.  Me, I'm still benefitting of the doubt.  And busy dealing with other crap.  We're not really inclined to give her the LoA, despite the fact that we'll look like bitches for it.

So, last night, meg pinged Vicky, asking if she could post her Xrays to the OOC community, because people were asking about them.  Vicky, understandably, was WTF?  And said no.  Which is a bit disappointing, because it would be SO much funnier if she had said yes.

Then, Vicky gets another ping from Celeste, asking if she looked gullible.  Celeste always manages to get hit by the people we are annoyed at.  Poor Celeste.  Meg pinged her to talk about feeling too much pain to sit at the computer, her Xrays, etc.  Celeste is the one who asked about the Xrays.

You see that little time stamp near the bottom of the page?  The one that says it was posted in 2005?  I don't think that plate is so shiny and new now.

And it gets better, gentle viewers.  Turns out that Celeste is a TA in Anatomy.  She knows the human body.  She knows Xrays.  She took one look at the link and said "That's a leg, not an arm.  A man's leg, even."

*giggles hysterically*

So, yeah...  Apparently I'm not as cynical as I thought I was.  I'm cautious.  And laughing both quietly and hysterically as I try not to wake anyone else up.  This is absolutely too good, people.  It has totally and completely made my morning.  Which is good, since I think my day is going to be spent under the trailer at Rocky Mount, replacing a cutoff valve that has a broken handle and is stuck on off.

We haven't discussed what action we're going to take yet.  I know she's gone from the RPG.  Because we will not put up with this shit.  No way, no how.  Hehehe.  Maybe we'll send it to Fandom Wank.  Hehehehe.

I'm about to bitch about something that's been happening at Caliga.  If you might get offended because you know the person, don't read any further.  Seriously.

Is up and running!  *bounces up and down*  Major hugs to all the people who stayed up until midnight to post.  You're all amazing.  And possibly insane, which is why we love you.

I will not kill my husband.  I will not kill my husband.  Who is in full "we're moving" mode and keeps telling me things we need to take care of.  Which would be fine if not for the fact that he's told me most of this stuff five times before...  Or is so simple that an idiot should know.

So, yeah, I love him and will not kill him.  Even if he insists on going over the schedule for today and tomorrow again!

28 journals are now part of caliga_rpg.  How awesome is that?  That's...  Hold on, why's the Quib not on the list?  *sigh*  I'm such a dope.  OK, 29 journals, five of which are plot journals.  So, 24 character journals (Look, Ma, I cans do maff!), from 16 players.  Wow!

We even managed to get jandjsalmon  to sign up! She's playing Tracey Davis.

Life is pretty good, even if I am really tired at the moment.

If you haven't already, go check out caliga_rpg.  We're still looking for lots of characters.  Lots of characters are a good thing.

Caliga was officially announced at what, 10-ish Friday morning?  We've had SO many auditions come in already.  Most of them have been absolutely amazing.  We did have to reject one audition, I'm sad to say.  *is sad*

So, we have Luna, Harry, Ginny, Draco, Hannah, Mac, Blaise, Neville, Narcissa, Fred, Molly, Katie, Hermione, Tonks, and Daphne Greengrass (almost forgot her!).  We're waiting on a writing sample from someone who wants to play Snape and/or Ron.  Seven players...  A nice turn out for our first full day of being official.

Oh!  And if she weren't already awesome enough, goddessvicky(with Dan's help) made a web page for Caliga!  It's very nice, especially the Harry bio page.  *drools*  (BTW, Vicky, give Dan lots of virtual hugs from us all for helping with that.)

jandjsalmon is also pretty awesome.  She found hprpsearchfor us, a massive HP RPG advertisement community.  dream_mancer is working up an ad that meets their standards today.  And I have to tweak the Caliga graphic to make it within their parameters.

But, first of all...  I really do have to work on cleaning DH's crap.  It's not hard, really.  You just gan't do anything else productive while you're doing it.  Hehehe, though, maybe I'll see if we do have a copy of Alexander lying around.  Jared Leto....

So, to do list for the day:

Clean Army crap    Done for the day, at least.  I'm out of room to hang the things that can't go in the dryer.  And, of course, it's not simple things like shirts...  It's sleeping bags and tent pieces.  But, his ruck sack frame, helmet, tent stakes, and shovel have been spray painted again.  Will probably need a touch up, but that's the glory of quick-dry paint.

Hey, my Caliga lovelies?  Am I going to end up doing front pages/icons for all the written media?  I have no problem doing so, but some advance warning (like what the first issue will be, and when it's due) would be nice.  =-D

spankerella, goddessvicky, dream_mancer and I have been working onthe past week: caliga_rpg.   A Harry Potter, post-war role playing game.  It's not DH compliant, though we might borrow a few characters, ideas, and such from the book.

We need more players!  We're not going live until Oct 1st, to give people a chance to sign up, but you want to get in early.  And even if you don't want to play, you can watch (and doesn't THAT sound slightly wrong!).  Watch the RPG, the OOC comm, and join the fan community.

Better yet, pimp it around!
