It seems like it shouldn't work, but it does.  A Torchwood/Veronica Mars crossover, Lovely Rainy Holiday by noneinnyet features Veronica and Logan heading to Wales in search of someone.  Spoilers through Season 2 of Torchwood and features canon male/male relationship and rated NC-17.  Link leads to the epilogue, which has links to all 14 parts.

The sequel, Ianto's First Thanksgiving has Jack and Ianto visiting their new friends in California for the American holiday.  I haven't read very far yet, but it seems that noneinnyet's writing stays consistent.  I might look up more of the author's work later.  Also contains canon slash and is rated NC-17.

Also, you might want to check out Veritas by ShayneT, over at TTH.  A Lois and Clark non-cross, it has an AU Clark accidentally finding his way to the real world where 9/11 happened and Superman is only a comic book.  Kinda heavy on the politics at times, though ShayneT does a decent job of balancing both sides of the security issue.  A work in progress.

I'm sure there are others I want to rec.  Just can't think of any of them right now...

D'Oh!  Martian Manhunter, by Mediancat.  A Veronica Mars/Buffy crossover, where Veronica is slapped into the world of Buffy Season 2 and challenged to make it better.  I avoided this story for a long time, thinking it was going to be the typical Veronica-Sue self-insertion type fic.  It's not.  Veronica is still her witty self as she struggles to improve the Scoobies' lives and still deal with her own return to VM Seaon 1.

Also, check out Death Becomes Him, also by Mediancat.  A VM season 1 AU, what happens when Aaron Echolls died when his stalker attacks him, instead of lived.

Specific stories to check out, Dawning Light, an awesome Buffy/Anita Blake crossover.  I don't even LIKE Anita Blake and I still follow this story.

Pocket Watch Boy, a Torchwood and Doctor Who fic revolving around one Ianto Jones and his pocket watch.  Don't read unless you've seen all of Doctor Who season 3.

Physics of the Spin, another one of those crossovers that should be cracktastic but works due to her amazing writing ability.  StarGate: Atlantis and Gilmore Girls!

She has a Pretender/Torchwood crossover in the works that I plan on fangirling like crazy.  Because Pretender!!!

I need a laughing icon.  Or a funny one.  *shrug*  I also need to buy a paid account again so that I can have more icon space.  But...  You know, there's so many other things to spend money on.

Like the miniDV cameras that I do not need.  But are really cool and and that I want.

So, there's this Hail and Farewell tomorrow that I have to go to.  Bleh.

Oh...  Must remember that not everyone is up on Army Jargon.  A Hail and Farewell is exactly that.  They welcome the new soldiers who have just started in the company and say goodbye to the soldiers leaving.  This will actually be the first one I've gone to.  The joys of having built-in excuses.  Known as Eldest and Youngest to the rest of the world.  Well, no, not really, but I do have a few instances of paranoia and therefore refer to members of my family as something other than their given names in LJ.

So, Hail and Farewell, in a kid-friendly environment.  When means I can't get out of it.  *pout*  Even worse, they're going to judge me!

Yeah, those instances of paranoia?  Happening right now.  They are not judging me.  They are not judging me.  The other wives are going to be judging my appetizer.  Which, seriously, if I'm shelling out $8 for dinner, why the hell do I need to supply more food?

Anyway...  I'm in an odd mood tonight.  Don't ask, I have no idea why.

The appetizer I decided on is this.  It looks yummy.  I'd eat it.  And if nothing else, I know that Eldest will enjoy the cinnamon chips. 

And now for something completely different... 

I checked out slythhearted's recs on del.what.ever.it.is.org.  And have been slowly making my way through "Blood Magic", a very good Severitus story.  Yes, Severitus is silly, but, what can I say...  Anyways, very good fic.  I'm almost done.  "Almost" being a relative term.  The damn thing's 84 chapters long!  I've made it to 77.

I think that's it for now...  Waiting for someone to come on-line so that I can do a scene.  Twiddling my thumbs and getting caught up in Caliga.

Involving me living with Sis, her latest guy, and Mom, in a trailer that was so run down it wasn't even funny.  We're talking health hazard bad here, with holes in the ceiling and such.  And, considering I think it was the trailer we lived in before we had the house built when I was like 8, that sorta makes sense...

Anyway, people kept coming out to inspect it to tell us it was a health hazard, and we all kept saying it was fine as we jumped over gaping hopes.

And then one of my kids hit someone.  Which prompted the other kid's relative (who was oddly Youngest's godmother's husband) to decide that my kids were pure evil and to start a smear campaign against us and the kids, including posting fliers at his insanely weird church that prompted people trying to literally kill my kids.

I woke up after rescuing youngest from the clutches of one...  It was rather graphic and disturbing, so I won't share the details of how...

As to why Mr. B. was an insane religious person and not the sweet man I know him to be...  Who knows what my subconscious was doing...  Other than being completely odd.  Seriously, it freaked me out.

So, I've been following this series for awhile, and I have to say that it's pretty amazing.  It's a Dr Who Doomsday fix, or, at least eventually will be.  The author is spastasmagoria, and links to the entire series to date can be found here.  In the latest story, she's finally re-introduced Captain Jack!  The OC is hilariously funny, and the Doctor trying to deal with her is even better.
