Fanart for the story "It Don't Come Easy" by twisted_slinky. It can be found here.

(On a sorta related note, I have been basically offline for a month. Both because the wireless here sucks and because I have been busy. I'm unwilling to work to change the first because DH is going to sweep in and change everything anyway. As for the second, I just need to get through it.)

I finally fixed the Durus Cateanus House Badge.  Yep, that's right, the badger no longer looks like a damn skunk!  Which also meant I had to do something about the tattoo in the Angel Boys manip, because if you're going to fix one you might as well fix the other, right?

I was also out and -- gasp -- socialble today.  It was actually fun.  Had lunch at the neighbor's house with the other wives from OCS.  There's only a handful of us on base at the moment, so it's not that bad.

Down to 200 lbs according to my scale this morning.  Yay!  Dress is still too tight.  I could probably get it closed, but not without having ugly wrinkles across the chest area.  So, at least another 5 pounds.

I'm feeling the need to be creative at the moment.  I need to read over Search and Rescue for Laney.  I want to write or be artistic.  Maybe I'll take a look at H&H and see if I can beat a few words out of my head.

It's about to storm.  Thrill.

To LJ's Gallery.  There's a couple that have never been posted before.  One random Dawn/Connor one that I did for absolutely no reason.

The other is a Connor manip that Karen requested, I guess a couple of years ago, for a teenaged friend who was dying of cancer.  The lyrics and inspiration for the pic came from the Linkin Park song "Somewhere I Belong".  I listened to the song the whole time I was working on the pic, and I have to admit it was the hardest manip I've ever done because it was so important to both Karen and her friend.  Both the song and the theme of the pic are so dark and I really wanted to make a nice, fluffy pic in order to keep the girl's spirits up.  It was absolutely impossible to do it, though.  I remember commenting to Karen that I was having trouble because I couldn't balance "feel better soon" with "you're gonna die."  Karen, who sometimes has a very dark sense of humor, found that hilarious.

Anyway, I decided that enough time had passed to release it into the wild, so to speak.  It still gets an emotional response out of me, but the whole point of doing it was for others to enjoy it.

I have accomplished the animated icon!  OK, OK, so it's a very simple animation...  That's not the point.  The point is I did it.  Yesiree, I did.

Now, I need to send it to Karen, who has no idea that it's coming.  It was just practice and I wasn't about to admit trying if it sucked.

ETA: Damn... I just noticed that a few of the frames don't have the border on them. *grumble grumble grumble* Would you have even noticed if I hadn't mentioned it?

With GIMP and some of the latest features.  Which can be very frustrating when I'm trying to follow a tutorial I don't understand and the boys want something every five seconds.  And the youngest melting because the icy pops weren't frozen yet made it all the more fun...

Fragile Existence and notes )

OK, I think that's it for tonight.

Just finished a manip for [livejournal.com profile] laney_1974's Lost Warrior.  Here it is.

Lost Warrior )

I don't know why, but for some reason I can never see as much of the detail on other computers.  It's not like my computer has amazing resolution or anything.  Oh well, it also means that the picture of Willow doesn't look as crappy.

So, let's see, Willow is from "Wild at Heart".  Crappy picture, plus, crying, so not her most beautiful moment.  But the crying as if her heart was just broken was perfect for what I was trying to do.  I had plans on putting her in uniform, but it just didn't work out.  That's OK, though, because I don't think Laney ever said she was in uniform at the bar.

Daniel is from the episode where they find the NID Goa'uld clone girl.  I don't remember the episode name.  He looks perfectly thoughful and worried, though.  The most frustrating part about him was the fact that there's a dark bar over his chest.  Cutting it off made him look funny and I had no way to hide the cut off.  In the end I extended the bar and used it as the title.

Also, Daniel ends right in the middle of the Stargate Chevron.  Which is actually why the Stargate is there.  And did you know that there's actually not a whole lot of pictures of the gate around?  Plenty of pics of the actors, but not a lot of the gate.

For [livejournal.com profile] laney_1974's TTH100 contributions.

That was a lot of fun and yet at the same time very frustrating.  The pix of Willow, taken from Storyteller, was actually very hard to get right.  Willow was sitting right in front of a window, which made her forehead and nose shiney...  Which also made it very hard to distinguish face from background.  And she's also a bit fuzzier than Daniel.  Still, all in all, I like the end result.

Laney mentioned she'd like a moon in the background in one of them.  So, I'm off to see what other pix of Daniel I can find.  It may need to be a Season 8 pic, since there doesn't seem to be a lot of Season 9 available yet.  And, of course, since I haven't seen a whole lot of 9...  It's all waiting at home on the TiVo for me to watch.
