Spike raised an eyebrow at this bit of information. “As long as you didn’t take it for a test run.”
“No test run,” she assured. “Equipment is in working condition, well tested in shining hearts and other secret places.”
Spike was silent for a moment, translating River-speak into something a little more understandable. “I’m tellin’ ya, when a man carries a gun that size, and names it Vera, he’s compensatin’ for something.”
