Getting things done

Updated Heaven and Hell on FF.net. Added another 50 pages to what's posted. Have about another 30 finished, but need to go over them to make sure I didn't lose any changes when the computer crashed. Thank goodness I habitually back things up, at least. So, only the most recent changes were lost, like when I realized I had Kate's car in two different places at once. *blush*
Did lose a few things that I liked. Adding them back doesn't seem to work as well as the original edit did. And the Author's Note I had to add seems long and rambling. The original was witty and much shorter. *sigh*
Now, if I could only get one character's voice to stop sounding insane when I write her... Which is what led to the writer's block in the first place. She's not supposed to be insane -- evil's a completely different subject.
I did figure out who the "big bad" of my story was, finally. The answer, oddly enough, is no one. It's Action/Adventure, yes, but in the end it's also about the people. So, no end of the world prophecies, no idiot with a god complex. There are going to be more action scenes, but they're going to be secondary.
So, feeling pretty accomplished, despite the fact that I spent most of today watching MythBusters. Seriously, if you like explosions and haven't seen this show, you're missing out. They test all sorts of urban legends and stories. One of the things they did in today's marathon was make jawbreakers explode -- not as hard as you might expect. It comes on the Discovery Channel, and during Shark Week this year they're going to test some of the stuff from Jaws. I'll be laughing my ass off the whole time. My five year old loves the show, which is possibly scary. It's educational... Seriously...
