jo_anne_stormI'm about to bitch about something that's been happening at Caliga. If you might get offended because you know the person, don't read any further. Seriously.
Yet another player issue... During a week when I'm ambivalent, at best, about the whole RPG. I love the RPG, really, I do. Just... Some days I really could take it or leave it.
Latest drama has been happening for awhile, and compared to the Player A drama of last month, it's really only a mini-drama. It hopes to grow up to be a big strong drama one day, but needs to eat lots more veggies for that to happen.
This player... What letters have I not used? Player D. Player D seems to have only joined the RPG in order to write smut. Not that we object to smut, of course. But, we don't want a sex-driven RPG. So, we asked her to start thinking of some other plots.
So she sends in an audition for a new character. The person who had posted maybe 5 times in a month and a half. We said no, that she wasn't doing enough with the one character she had.
Anyway, she's constantly asking to be inserted into a plot, then never follows through with it. She'll ask to do something that it is OBVIOUS for her character to do, and never do it... And I don't feel comfortable telling you what that task is, since it'll make the character and player obvious.
We've TRIED to insert her into plots and she always drops the ball. As in, we suggest how she could be involved, and that's the last we'll hear about it. Or, she one she actually tried on, what she turned in to us was so short and stilted that we immediately rejected it. It's bad when even Player M, who suggested the plot to D in the first place says that D won't do it.
And the questions! She always seems to go to Vicky with them. The stupidest questions that if she paid even the slightest bit of attention to the communities she would know! She asked Vicky for Laura's e-mail address twice tonight! When the Contact Info page is linked right there on the communities and I've posted no less than 3 reminders of them. The latest tonight, right before the second request for Laura's address!
What other stupid questions has she asked? Oh, because of the one plot that M said she's fumble, she had to know about Anthony's activities. And, instead of reading the latest post, the one she needed to know about, she asked both Mal and Vicky a hundred questions. To the point that the bit we rejected was pretty much a dry verbatim of what they told her.
It's just... AGH! Vicky says I can drop kick her. Yes, I want to drop kick her. I'm not the one constantly peppered with questions from her. I'm the voice of reason. And I'm just tired of it. Both of her and of the three characters who have disappeared into Swirling Vortexes of Doom! I'm ready to kick all 3 of them out, no third chances there. I know that they have real lives and school and jobs and such. But... You obviously don't have time to play if you can't post a reply to an owl. These characters haven't been seen in a month. One does at least keep up with the RPG because she helps with the update, but her character has went poof!
And, you know, that was a really random tangent. Like I said, I'm a bit fed up with it all at the moment. Am I going to quit? No. I do love the game and the majority of both the players and characters. I do have fun. Just... Not right now. But, this is why we have multiple mods. So that if one gets burnt out, someone else can keep an eye on things for a bit.
OH! I forgot! Player D is sending in another audition! Which is what sent me into this rant. She couldn't bother to look up either the person to send the audition to, or the Magical Games and Sports Head's name. You know, the guy who is running against Maria and who's name has been mentioned at least 4 times since the 1st of the month. Twice in the past week, even. *shakes head* I can pretty much guarantee that this character will be rejected if for no other reason than because the player apparently has no idea of what is going on. Her new character idea is the assistant to the head of MG&S. And, since he's currently my personal playtoy and is running for Minister of Magic... Yeah, it's not going to happen.
OH, PART II: Vicky, since you're the one who gets the stupid questions, and I know you're reading this, feel free to comment with some of her stupidities.
