Permanent F-Locking

Just upgraded back to the Paid Account and have F-Locked all posts.  I will be going back and unlocking the few fiction posts later today.

Let me state, just for the record, that the decision to F-Lock has nothing to do with anything that is or has happened on-line.  It's due to paranoia on my own part that people in my real life will learn my LJ user name.  Like my Mom, whom I've been less than complimentary about in past posts.  I need this journal as an outlet for real life stress and do not want to risk my whines or general bitchiness to get back to the people I talk about.

I was a little mortified when my mother found my journal. There was some scrambling involved, let me tell you. And I ALWAYS doublecheck my bitchy posts, 'cause I don't want to offend her.

But I'm not ready to completely F-lock.

I understand the paranoia, believe me.

I went to 100% f-lock about 3 1/2 years ago and I don't regret it. It does cut down on the number of 'new' friends as people really don't have anything to judge me by except an introduction of a mutual friend but that's worth the security of not worrying about my family or colleagues finding about my online life and interests.

Yeah... Probably a good idea.

I've been bitten in the ass a few times, which is why most of my good gossipy posts are locked down harder than a maximum security prison.
